System I is Superflite's Butyrate Dope system.  This coating system is FAA-approved and has been around since the company's beginnings.  It consists of a nitrate filler, a silver UV protector, and a tinted butyrate topcoat.  Great for a vintage or classic airplane! Superflite first received FAA-approval on it's System II urethane covering system in 1983.  In the late 1990's, the VOC's were lowered to meet EPA standards, and System II became System VI.  The urethane system provides durability, chemical resistance, and a high gloss finish.  Look for the Superflite GeeBee when searching for more information on the System VI urethane!
